Auténtica Pérgola Hostal & Restaurant-Bar

A lovely historic Casa with beautiful courtyard, charming owners and great food. We had a 3 course meal with freshly cooked soup, fresh fish and dessert with an ice cold beer - heaven! Good sized rooms and the place is minutes walk from the centre. The city is charming too with more buzz than most provincial towns, live music, several bars and especially good at weekends. We visited Santa Clara - which was a great city - try to be there during the weekends if you can - there is a lot of buzz in the city and in the evening the bars and clubs are great fun. We did not manage to get a booking at this Casa - but had our Dinner and Breakfast there. The Owner and his wife are very hospitable - we saw the rooms - they are really beautiful and full of character. The Courtyard is trully amazing. The Dinner - CUC 10 / 12 for a great lobster dish and a really nice fish dish - Starter / Main / Desert and coffee - reallly nice fresh food and cooked beautifuly. Even if you dont get a chance to stay here come for Breakfast / Dinner - you will not regret it. Hope you enjoy it the same way as we did in Santa Clar Piyush47 Lugano, Suiza

Non ho dubbi nel consigliarlo. Finalmente un hostal in vero stile coloniale ma con alcune attenzioni nell'arredo e nella funzionalità che in viaggio fanno piacere. Le stanze sono grandi e con soffitti altissimi, aria condizionata (finalmente ad altezza giusta), pavimento piastrellato d'epoca, bagno in camera (con le classiche porte in legno e vetro) grande, arioso e ristrutturato, doccia con grande piatto, finestre, tanta luce. Addirittura un secondo lavandino nella stanza, quasi un antibagno. Presa corrente anche a 220. Tutte le stanze hanno le finestre (alte, con grate esterne bianche e tapparelle che ne consentono una parziale chiusura) che si affacciano su un patio delizioso e fresco, con una fontana centrale, ricco di piante e con tante sedie e poltroncine dove passare piacevolmente qualche ora di relax. Eccellente la pulizia e la cortesia. Tutta la struttura è eccellente (ci sono un grande corridoio e saloni arredati con gusto e tanti oggetti d'epoca). La colazione

Siamo stati in questa casa una notte durante il nostro tour "de la Isla" ma è bastata per apprezzarne tutto. Camere ampie e ben curate con condizionatore. Location affascinante, in stile coloniale.. Bel giardino, ottima cucina, tanta gentilezza e cortesia. Prezzi ottimi e anche posto auto "controllato". Veramente consigliato!!! amilillyvict

Visited Hostal Autentica Pergola for two nights in August. I would highly recommend. Beatifully restored, clean, and comfortable Spanish style house. Eines der besten "casas particulares", das wir auf unserer zweiwöchigen Reise durch Kuba hatten. Hier stimmte einfach alles: super saubere und hübsch eingerichtete Zimmer, sehr großzügige Bäder mit gut funktionierender (!) Dusche, traumhafter Innenhof mit chilligen Schaukelstühlen vor den Zimmern, ausgezeichnetes Essen und obendrein noch total nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Sehr zu empfehlen. FritzAC Aachen

Abbiamo soggiornato all' Autentica Pergola alla fine della nostra vacanza a Cuba, eravamo io, il mio compagno e mio figlio di 9 anni. Avevo prenotato via web già a giugno, ed avevo chiamato per confermare, come d'accordo, un paio di giorni prima. Quando siamo arrivati, Carmen e Obregon ci stavano aspettando. La stanza era molto ampia, con aria condizionata, frigo e bagno esclusivo. ma la cosa che più ci ha colpiti è la bellezza della casa, del suo patio e del giardino nel quale poi alla sera abbiamo gustato una cena assolutamente deliziosa (io ho ripreso per 3 volte la loro "Sopa"!) così come una ricca e genuina colazione al mattino. Dato che il nostro volo era stato spostato, ci hanno anche permesso di soggiornare in camera fino alle 3 del pomeriggio. Una casa che consiglio assolutamente per l'eleganza, la posizione assolutamente privilegiata, l'ottima cucina e la cortesia dei proprietari. SaLoMar2009  Módena, Italia

Casa La Pergola in Santa Clara is the best choice in the city. The rooms are really very clean and spacious, the owner is a very friendly man ready to assist you whenever you need. Io e la mia ragazza abbiamo soggiornato una notte durante un tour "selfmade" di Cuba, e saremmo volentieri restati per altre notti. Il posto è bellissimo e i proprietari davvero gentilissimi (Carmen è un'ottima cuoca). La posizione poi è assolutamente top, proprio nel centro di Santa Clara. extremely nice hostel, situated in the santa clara city centre. Enjoy the hospitality of the english speaking hosts who will do everything to make you enjoy the stay. The hosts even arranged someone to look after our rental car during the night. They have a beautiful inner garden, airco and refrigerator (with beer !)in a large and tidy room with a double bed. By far the best guesthouse we stayed in during our 10 day tour in Cuba. We will surely return there whenever we visit santa clara again. We had a pleasure to stay at Hostal Autentica Pergola in July 2011. The house is very beautifull with unique colonial atmosphere and big and very well arranged garden. The rooms are big with private and clean bath. The hosts Carmen and Carlos are very friendly and helpfull in all unexpected cases (we had a serious car problem and Carlos helped us immediately). The food was very delicious and the quantity was absolutely enough (big langosta for a very, very reasonable price). Location is excellent, just 100 mtrs to the central city plaza. Che dire di questo bellissimo posto se non confermare quello che già è stato scritto. Camere belle e pulite, cibo buono e abbondante, cortesia di casa, utili informazioni ma con discrezione. El hostal es una casa colonial con un patio interior impresionante con plantas y una fuente central. Las habitaciones son muy amplias, de techos altísimos, con baño incluido. La comida es excepcional. El desayuno merece la pena y la cena exquisita, incluye entrada, plato principal (tomamos langosta) con ensalada, plátano frito y arroz de acompañamiento, pan, postre... una delicia en un entorno muy relajante. Die Casa ist wirklich ein Tipp wert. Das Haus liegt super zental, das alte Kolonialhaus ist ein Traum mit wunderschönem Innenhof und Schaukelstühlen vor den Zimmern. Unser Zimmer war sehr schön. Typisch kubanisch möbliert mit viel Flair und einem neuen Bad. Das Frühstück und das Abendessen servieren Carmen und Obregón im Innenhof. Das Frühstück war das Beste was wir in den Casas bekamen und das Abendessen lies auch keine Wünsche offen. Obregón spricht gut Englisch und beide sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. ottima sistemazione in ambiente coloniale ben restaurato, il proprietario signor Obregon ci ha mostrato con orgoglio il riconoscimento consegnatogli dal comune per il miglior restauro. La famiglia accogliente e disponibile, le camere sono grandi e dotate di ogni confort. I pasti sono abbondanti ben presentati e ottimi. Si trova a pochi metri dal boulevar. I stayed at this casa particular for 3 days and I was made really welcome and everyone was very friendly and polite. The family are very courteous and professional, and their house is muy bonita! The room I stayed in was lovely and the garden was sooo beautiful, my favourite part of the casa. The food served was excellent and plentiful, and the family helped me with arranging a trip/tour and getting back to Havana. We stayed here while doing a 1000 mile road trip around Cuba and this casa summed up exactly what we were looking for: a taste of real Cuba with refinements thrown in. The casa has been sympathetically renovated and provides an oasis of calm to retreat to. The food, service & atmosphere were all outstanding. Carlos & Carmen were consummate hosts and Carmen even took the day off to accompany us on a highly amusing goose-chase to Sagua La Grande and Encrujiada to discover the birthplace of my great grandfather who was born in Cuba. After many wrong turns we actually found the very place where he was born (the building was no longer there however.) I'm sure Carlos would have loved to come too, but someone had to 'hold the fort'. By the end of our stay we felt they were true friends & quite seriously if they ever want to stay with us in London, there is an open invitation for them to do so. Casa la Pergola is right in the centre of Santa Clara, fully restored, nicely decorated and with a lovely green patio complete with a little fountain and even colourful birds! Our room was cool: no wonder with ceilings at almost six meters high! The hosts Carlos and Carmen very attentive and pleasant. Santa Clara is a crossroads, commercial town, its main interest of course everything relating to El Che. L'Hostal Auténtica Pérgola è un gioiello nel cuore di Santa Clara, a poche decine di metri dal Parque Vidal. Le stanze sono ampie, arredate con gusto e dotate di tutti i comfort (bagno, aria condizionata, frigorifero, etc.). Splendido il patio sul quale si affacciano le stanze: una piccola oasi di verde che, in qualsiasi momento della giornata, in compagnia di un buon libro e nella comodità delle ampie sedie a dondolo in ferro battuto, invita al relax più completo, a volte interrotto, ma non spiacevolmente, dai versi dei coloratissimi pappagalini. L'ospitalità (e la disponibilità) di Carmen e Obregón è squisita, così come i pasti che, a richiesta, preparano per gli ospiti: ottime elaborazioni della cucina tipica locale che nulla hanno da invidiare ai migliori ristoranti e paladares segnalati sulle guide. L'Auténtica Pérgola è sicuramente un'ottima scelta per un gradevolissimo soggiorno a Santa Clara.   GinoPino69 Roma, Italia
